Neighborhood News

Board News: In response to comments made by residents at the annual meeting as well as issues presented to Board members, your Board of Directors has devoted many hours to determine the best way to deal with safety and nuisance problems.

Our attorney has advised that the Board is empowered to create rules and policies on these matters and, in addition, has the right to create an enforceable fine structure (as other subdivisions have), for violations.

After several meetings with law enforcement officials and fellow property owner associations around the lake, the Board is proceeding as follows: 1) Draft regulations which will outline the association's stance on a) unlicensed motorized vehicles, b) noise from such vehicles, c) golf carts driven by underage minors, d) golf carts driven at night without lights and e) rowdy behavior and curfew violations. 2) Distribute copies of the draft regulations and fine structure to all property owners of record. 3) Hold a property owners' forum to discuss pros and cons; additions, deletions or changes to the draft and 4) distribute final copies of approved regulations and fine structure to all property owners, indicating the date the regulations will start to be enforced.

Bowsprit Point Boat/Jet Ski Launch:  Several residents have expressed concern over
vehicles with trailers being left unattended at the Bowsprit Point launch.  Often this is because a single person is launching their jet ski and then leaves to tie it up elsewhere.  The Board of Directors has decided to allow parking at this ramp for up to 10 minutes.  This should allow for adequate
time to tie up your jet ski and retrieve your vehicle from blocking the launch ramp.  Please be considerate to your fellow property owners and do no leave your vehicle parked in the ramp for more than 10 minutes.

ARC News

Members of the ARC approved 4 residents' request for work to be done on or around their property. Three other requests are being reviewed.

During the month of Oct. the ARC will be conducting a walk-around to check compliance with guidelines and policies as stated in the property owner's handbook.  Please refer to the handbook and correct any violations as soon as possible.

The ARC's goal is to encourage maintenance and enhancement of personal and community property within the framework of the deed restrictions.  Approval/application forms are available online or in the office.  Your requests will be handled in an efficient manner.

Commodore’s Corner

Well, it’s almost the end of our summer fun, but not quite!  We still have our LABOR DAY weekend, and the DOCK PARTY.  Members and NON MEMBERS, alike, are invited to join the fun down on the docks Sunday night, August 31.  Decorate your boats, share your favorite beverages and appetizers, and listen to music by Becky.  There will be prizes for the best decorated boat, best concoction, and tastiest appetizers.  The Yacht Club will furnish cold water and soft drink.  Starting time is about 7:00 P.M.  Don’t forget the kids under twelve must wear life jackets down on the docks.  SEE YOU THERE!!

Ladies’ Lunch

Kim Pope and Diane Streetman will host the Ladies' Luncheon at Sam's Boat, Tuesday, Sept. 16 at 11:30 am.  The location is Waterpoint Center in Conroe, Hwy 105 West, 15000 block.  It is on the North (lake) side.  If you are going west, it is before you get to IHOP.  There are boat docks if you wish to travel by water.  The restaurant is opening Labor Day weekend so there is no telephone number at this time.  However there is a website with a menu.  Just “google” Sam's Boat.  RSVP info:    Kim:  936-856-1455, Diane:  936-890-9620 or email us.  Invite a neighbor and join us!
